Research and development (R&D) in Civil Engineering encompasses a wide range of activities aimed at improving infrastructure, construction methods and addressing societal challenges. And it plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of infrastructure making it safer, more sustainable and adaptable to the changing needs of society and the environment. It involves collaboration between academia, industry, and government agencies to drive innovation in the field. The department has been recognized Research Centre in the year 2014 under Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), with 7 research scholars currently pursuing their PhD program. Three Research Supervisors Dr V Ramesh, Dr Lakshmi Narasimhaiah and Dr Nagaraj Sitaram are guiding the research students for their PhD work. Currently students are doing research work on Concrete Technology and Fluid Mechanics. Department has received Research Grants from VGST, KSCST and KSTA. The department is well equipped with full-fledged laboratories and state of art infrastructure facilities supported by a team of extremely dedicated, well qualified and experienced faculty members. Also department is doing Consultancy Services to various State and Central Government agencies. Research Scholars have published many research papers in Scopus Indexed Journals and presented papers in National and International Conferences.
