The institute has a well-maintained library which is accessible to students from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

The library has access to various online E-resources like E-Books , E-Journals IEEE-E-Journals, Science Direct , Springer Nature , Under VTU Consortium, Denet and many more.

About Library

The EPCET Central Library was started in the year 1997 with a small collection of books. The present library is built on an area of 650 sqm with 100 user seating capacity and it is furnished with modern furniture. The Central Library is centrally situated and easily accessible to all the departments in the campus. The library serves the information needs of the students, research scholars, teaching faculty and non-teaching staff of the College. The library has a large collection of 44 thousand volumes, in various subjects, are very useful to all users. In addition to book collection, the library concentrates on subscribing for the journals and learned periodicals which are very useful for the College research works. It aims to achieve this, through acquisition, organization and dissemination of latest library materials and providing information resources to the users from its rich and diverse collections and help in the development of highly motivated, knowledgeable, skilled and talented staff. Automation of Library housekeeping operations carried out by using KOHA Software and DDC classification scheme has been followed to classifying library books. OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) facility is available at the library entrance to facilitate online search of books available in the library with Title, Author, Keyword and Subject search options. Digital Library services are available to the users with 30 systems at free of cost. E- Journals, E-books and databases are subscribed through VTU-Consortium, DELNET & NDL etc. Number of open access journals, databases, Syllabus copies, previous question papers and other useful resources are available for the academic community. CDs/DVDs are available.

  3. Readers should maintain strict silence inside the Library.
  4. All users must carry their Identity Card and produce it whenever requested. The ID card is mandatory for borrowing books.
  5. Personal belongings are not allowed inside the Library. All such items must be kept at the Library Property Counter.
  6. Library cards are non-transferable.
  7. Each student can borrow up to 4 books for a lending period of 30 days.
  8. If a book is not returned on or before the due date, a fine of Rs.5/- per day will be charged.
  9. Readers must Log IN-OUT the Gate System while entering and leaving the Library.
  10. Use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited inside the Library premises.
  11. Users are not allowed to carry eatables or drinks inside the Library.
  12. Readers are not permitted to bring personal books inside the Library.
  13. Marking, scratching, damaging, mutilating, or stealing Library materials/property will invite disciplinary action.
  14. Readers should avoid talking or discussing loudly, as it may disturb other users.
  15. No Library material shall be taken out of the Library without proper permission.
  16. Loss of borrowed materials must be reported immediately. The New Book Replacement or (double the current price of the material) along with overdue charges/double the book cost, if any, will be collected.
  17. The Library is not responsible for the loss or damage of users’ personal belongings.
  18. Users should not misplace Library books from the racks.
  19. The Librarian reserves the right to suspend the membership of any user found misbehaving with Library staff or other members.
  20. The Library follows an Open Access System. After referring to books/journals, users should leave them on the table and should not replace them on the racks.
  21. Reference books are not issued for home reading.
