Welcome Message

Pesticides have been in use for more than three decades in agriculture and public health programs all over the world. India is one of the highest manufacturers of pesticides and consumption of pesticides in the world. The consumption of the pesticides in India is increasing year by year. Pesticides usage in agriculture and other public health programmes for the purpose of insects control results in an increase of the yield of agriculture products and to control vector diseases.

The indiscriminate and excessive use of pesticide will contaminate the drinking water, food, soil and air environment. One of the main factors for chemicals contamination of environment today is with pesticides including insecticides, herbicides and fungicides. Humans experience continuous occupational or environmental exposure to pesticides which may cause serious human health effects, particularly cancer and neurodegenerative diseases etc.

The pollution control of pesticide has significance due to its scientific and social impact. Scientific and technological research can give a decisive contribution to reduce the impact of pesticide pollution on environment and human health. The international conference on the " Pesticides and Related Emerging Organic Pollutants Impact on the Environment and Human Health and Its Remediation Strategies at East Point College of Engineering and Technology (EPCET) during 7th – 9th November 2024

will be focus to explore the technology and scientific methods while promoting strategies for the developed and developing countries on sustainable agriculture practice to reduce the pesticide impact on the environment and human health.

On behalf of the convener and committee for international conference and management of East Point Group of Institutions, I invite faculty, scientists, research scholars, students and technicians, environmental companies and associations, national and International Bodies for dealing environmental Issues and also policy makers to attend the international conference at East Point College of Engineering and Technology (EPCET) ,Bangalore, India during 7th – 9th November 2024. Bengaluru is capital of Karnataka state is one of the beautiful cities in the India.

Looking forward for your active participation and cooperation for promoting the pesticide conference in 7th to 9th November 2024

WELCOME TO EAST POINT COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY , East Point Group of Institutions, Jnana Prabha, East Point Campus, Virgo Nagar Post, Avalahalli, Bangalore-560049,Karnataka, India

Conference

Conference Theme

Pesticides and related emerging organic pollutants include pharmaceuticals and personal care products(PPCP), metals, microplastic are contamination the environmentdue to human activities. Pesticides are continuously used in agriculture to killpests and to increase food production in India and throughout world. Pesticides arealso used in domestic sphere, forestry and public health purposes. India is one of the largest manufacturers of pesticides and consumption of pesticides is increasing every year. Indiscriminate use of pesticides is not only to kill the targeted pests, but also has effects on non-target organisms and also impacts on the environment including water, soil, air, plants and contamination of the food stuffs such as vegetables, fruits, fish and prawns etc.

Humans are continuously exposed to pesticides through the food chain and for several years throughout the world. Some recent research studies suggested that the presence of pesticides in the environment and also inhuman milk, tissues and blood evidence of the magnitude of pesticides impact on the environment and human health. Some pesticides exposure has been linked to diseases such as cancer, as well as neurotoxicity and neurodegenerative disorders. The principle neurotoxicity after exposure to pesticides is presumed to result from protein interaction with pesticides for example organophosphorous pesticides inhibit acetylcholineErsterase(AChE) via formation of a covalent protein adduct to pesticides.

The conference will bring together experts from India and other countries giving an opportunity not only to scientists from different disciplines, but also other organizations, policy makers and groups involved in control of pesticides to meet together and discuss future trends and action. The conference will discuss comprehensive perspectives on the current challenges of pesticides pollution and the impact on the environment and human health. The conference will also discuss how pesticides and other chemicals effect non-target organisms includes human, fish, prawn, etc by interactions of pesticides with biomolecules proteins and DNA and the associated link todiseases. The conference will address biotechnological and nanotechnological methods and biopesticides and also environmental biotechnology methods, to avoid the impact of the pesticides on environment and to find the remedies for the pesticide pollution

The key themes of conference are broadly related to

  • Pesticide pollution and emerging organic pollutants PAHs, metals, micro plastic, Detergents, Pharmaceuticals personal care products(PPCEP) and endocrine disruptive chemicals etc and its contamination and photodegradaton environment, water, soil and air pollution,
  • Food Contamination with toxic chemicals,
  • Topic relating to the analytical & environmental chemistry, environmental science ,
  • Sensor technology for environmental quality monitoring ,
  • Environmental chemicals interaction with biomolecules AChE, proteins and DNA etc ,
  • Toxicity of environmental chemicals,
  • Biotechnology method for pollution control methods and aquaculture,
  • Nanotechnology/Nanomaterials for Environmental application,
  • Bio-pesticides and phytochemistry,
  • Electrochemical methods for the environment quality monitoring and pollution control methods,,
