The Institute of Indian Foundrymen (IIF) was set up in 1950 to promote education, research, training and development to Indian foundrymen and to serve as a nodal point of reference between the customers and suppliers of the Indian foundry industry on a global scale.
With its Head Quarter in Kolkata, IIF presently services the entire country through its 26 Chapters under four Regional Offices located at Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai & Chennai.
The Institute is a member of the World Foundrymen Organisation (WFO) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
Center of Education and Training (CET)- is a Centre of Excellence of The Institute of Indian Foundrymen (IIF) to promote education and training activities among Indian Foundrymen, pertaining to metal casting and is located in Kolkata. The faculty comprises of Industry experts and other resource persons from all over the country.
YOGYATA VIKAS is another CET IIF initiative which brings to foundry industry a unique training program for foundry workmen. Yogyata Vikas is a program exclusively designed to impart technical knowledge with practical orientation to young Entrepreneurs, your Foundry Staff i.e. Foundry Supervisors & workmen.

Department of Mechanical Engineering, East point College of Engineering and Technology, became a Department membership of the society of The Institute of Indian Foundrymen (IIF) on 1st of January 2021 for the purpose of advancing the arts and sciences of Foundry, Manufacturing processes and Allied Sectors.
The Student Chapter of The Institute of Indian Foundrymen Bangalore Chapter, was organized by Department of Mechanical Engineering, East point College of Engineering and Technology at SM Jayaram Memorial Hall, East point College of Engineering and Technology on 05th April 2021.
