East Point College of Engineering and Technology (EPCET) is committed in preparing young engineers not merely to seek employment, but to create value, solve real-world problems and become future employers. In today’s rapidly changing technological and economic environment, Research and Development (R&D), Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Skill development must become integral to engineering education.

EPCET has a tremendous intellectual resource and our growing engagement with reputed national laboratories provide a strong foundation on which we build a vibrant research and innovation ecosystem.

The role of R&D here is to translate knowledge into innovative ideas, prototypes, patents, products, technologies and start-ups. Faculty research increasingly addresses problems relevant to industry and society, while students are encouraged to identify problems, design solutions, develop prototypes and take their ideas towards commercialization.

Our effort is to create an environment where every student gets an opportunity to innovate, every faculty member is encouraged to pursue meaningful research, and promising ideas receive institutional support to grow into viable technologies or enterprises. Collaboration with industries, R&D organisations, national laboratories, start-up ecosystems and funding agencies is an important part of this journey. The objective is to transform our students from knowledge seekers into problem solvers, innovators, entrepreneurs and job creators.
